A bathroom that still works in ten years
Most bathroom problems we get called out to in the Algarve are hidden ones. Waterproofing that was skipped, old plumbing that was never replaced, or a room with no proper ventilation that grows mould every winter. They all look fine on handover day, and then they don’t.
We have been renovating bathrooms for 25 years across the UK, France and now Portugal, so we do the boring parts properly. Membranes under every tile in the wet areas, new pipework where the old stuff is past it, and extraction that actually clears the steam.
Then we make it look good. Porcelain, natural stone, Portuguese azulejos or seamless microcement, walk-in showers with frameless glass, wall-hung fittings that make a small room feel bigger. If you have a bathroom you want to sort out, get in touch and we will come and look.

Our Bathroom Services
What a bathroom renovation with us covers
From a straight swap of tired fittings to a full strip-out and new layout. These are the jobs we do most.
Full Bathroom Renovations
Strip back to the walls and floor, fix what is underneath, and rebuild. New layout if the old one never worked.
Walk-in Showers
Level-access showers with frameless glass. Bigger-feeling rooms and far easier to clean than a tray and curtain.
Waterproofing
Proper membranes under tiles and around showers. The step that gets skipped most, and the one that costs most when it is.
Tiling and Stone
Porcelain, ceramic, marble, limestone and traditional azulejos. Textured finishes on the floor so it is safe when wet.
Microcement Finishes
One seamless surface across floors, walls and showers, with no grout lines. Clean, modern and well suited to Algarve homes.
Plumbing and Ventilation
New pipework where older Portuguese homes need it, good water pressure, and extraction that stops damp and mould.

Questions We Get Asked
Bathroom renovations in the Algarve: your questions answered
How much does a bathroom renovation cost in the Algarve?
As a rough guide, a basic refresh with new fixtures, tiles and paint runs €5,000 to €10,000. A mid-range renovation with quality materials and some layout changes is typically €10,000 to €20,000. High-end bathrooms with premium finishes, custom features or structural work can go past €25,000. We give you an itemised quote before any work starts.
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
Most take 3 to 6 weeks from start to finish. A simple refit can be done in about 2 weeks. Bigger jobs with layout changes, structural work or made-to-order materials can take 8 weeks or more. We give you a programme up front and tell you straight away if anything changes.
Do I need permission to renovate a bathroom in Portugal?
A like-for-like refit usually does not. Structural changes or adding floor space normally need a licence from your local Câmara Municipal, and plumbing and electrical work must meet Portuguese safety standards. We handle the paperwork and make sure the work is properly documented.
Is microcement a good choice for a bathroom?
Yes, when it is applied and sealed properly. It gives you one seamless surface with no grout lines to clean, which is why it has become so popular in modern Portuguese bathrooms. We can show you finished examples so you can see and touch it before you decide.
Can you manage the job if I am not in Portugal?
Yes. Many of our clients are expats or overseas owners who cannot be on site. We send regular updates, photos and video walkthroughs, and act as your representative on the ground. You will have a direct line to us throughout.
Do you work across the whole Algarve?
We are based in Portimão and work across the Algarve, including Lagos, Albufeira, Silves, Carvoeiro, Lagoa and the surrounding areas. Tell us where the property is and we will let you know straight away.
