London Townhouse
Over the course of a transformative nine-month renovation, this three-storey London townhouse, in Richmond, was entirely reimagined, blending timeless craftsmanship with contemporary design. Project managed by Rory, who seamlessly navigated the challenges of overseeing the build from his office in Portimão, the renovation was executed with precision. Rorys regular site visits ensured close collaboration with the design team and site installation team, overseeing technical intricacies, maintaining quality control, and keeping the project on track with an expertly coordinated construction programme.
The scope of work included a complete overhaul of the mechanical and electrical systems, alongside the meticulous replacement of all windows and doors. Traditional polished plaster and decorative finishes were applied throughout, infusing the home with a refined elegance. Every room was elevated with bespoke joinery packages, while three newly designed bathrooms, a cutting-edge kitchen, and exquisite new Oak flooring added layers of luxury to the space.
The heart of the home, however, is the newly crafted staircase, spanning from the ground floor to the second. Coordinating three different joinery companies, a specialist staircase fabricator, handrail designers & joiners, and the site installation carpentry team, Rory oversaw every detail of this architectural feature, ensuring it was a seamless blend of form and function.
A striking rear extension redefines the living space, where exposed wood Glulam beams soar above, leading out to a meticulously landscaped courtyard garden. The seamless connection between indoors and outdoors is framed by large-format oak and glass walling, with sliding doors that open directly onto the garden, creating a harmonious flow. The extension’s roof, finished with a polished micro-cement facia, is crowned by a generous rooflight featuring reflective solar glass, flooding the entire space with natural light, while preventing overheating and maintaining a sense of privacy and comfort.
